Social aid for victims of political repressions

In 2005, 34 citizens of the CHAO received benefits provided for by Law of the RF of the 18 October 1991 # 1761-1 on "Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repressions."

The Law of the Chukotskiy Autonomous Okrug #35-03 on "Measures of Social Support of Rehabilitated Persons and Persons Admitted Hurt through Political Repressions Who Constantly Live on the Territory of the Chukotskiy Autonomous Okrug" came into force.
In 2005, the budget spent 473.7 thousand rubles on social aid to victims of political repressions and 137.3 thousand rubles in form of co-financing on the part of the federal budget. Previously, there had been no financial aid coming from the federal budget. Compare: in 2001, the Okrug budget spent 88.8 thousand rubles on social support of this category of citizens, 225.7 thousand in 2002, and 307 thousand in 2003.



Rehabilitated people living on the territory of the CHAO receive:

• monthly payment of 750 rubles;

and enjoy the following benefits:

• privilege prosthesis;
• free telephone installation;
• 50%-discount on housing services;
• 50%-discount for one-time domestic Russian Federation transportation (return ticket) fee by air or water;
• Free legal advice;
• Special medical aid;
• Health-and-spa resorting;
• Special admittance to nursery homes and free burial.

Upon address to the state departments in regards of the issues connected with application of the Law of the CHAO #35-03, they do not have to pay state duties and court costs.

Persons admitted to have suffered from political repressions receive:

• Payments in the amount of 500 rubles;

and have the right for:

• A 50%-discount for housing services;
• Free legal advice;
• Special medical aid;
• Health-and-spa resorting;
• Special admittance to nursery homes and free burial.

Upon address to the state departments in regards of the issues connected with the application of the Law of the CHAO #35-03, they do not have to pay state duties and court costs.
