Informatization of education

Over the period from 2001 to 2005 the computer park of educational institutions of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug was 100% replaced. All 37 secondary and general schools are equipped with computer classrooms; and the students ratio per 1 computer decreased from 100 to 15 persons. A multi-media guide “Chukotka stories” in native languages has been produced.
The autonomous budget spending on the informatization of education increased from 141,000 rubles in 2001 to 2 mln rubles in 2005, which allowed the federal budget to reduce the relevant spending from 1.706 mln rubles in 2001 to 250,000 rubles in 2005.
