“Krainiy Sever”. This newspaper was established in 1933 and before 1993 was called “Sovetskaya Chukotka”). On the 1st of July 1997 on joining Anadyr printing house and editorial staff of Krainiy Sever newspaper there was established Publishing House “Chukotka”. On the 1st of January, 2002. unified organizational structure of publishing complex of Chukotka was founded: Krainiy Sever Publishing House. In October 2003 the publishing house was re-organized and gained the status of a state company of Chukotskiy Autonomous Region. The newspaper is issued once a week on A-3 sheets, 20 lines on each page. The main columns of the paper are: “Life of the Okrug”, “Regions of DFO”, Personality”, “Ecology”, “History”, “Memory”, “Health”, “Tourism”, “Sports”, “Celebrities”, “Advanced”, “Childhood” and others. Supplemental papers like Yunost, Obshestvo, Semja, Zdorovie and Stolitsa are also published. It has subsidiaries in Bering, Chaunskiy, Bilibinskiy, Providence and Iyultinskiy districts. The printing facility is located in Lavrenty Village. The paper is published in English, Chukchi and Eskimo languages.
