Salaries

The Chukotka Fund of Obligatory Insurance and the “Chukotka District Hospital” State Healthcare Institute (SHI) have opened separate accounts for making salary payments to primary professional level specialists. Amendments to employment agreements between the “Chukotka District Hospital” SHI and these employees have been also made.

Registers of the medical personnel of the primary professional level unit, entitled to additional payments are updated monthly. Thus, in January 2002, 22 specialists received additional income in the amount of 150,000 rubles. In February more people were added to the Register, and 386,903,000 rubles were received by 45 specialists, including:

1. 10 district pediatricians
2. 12 nurses of district GPs
3. 12 nurses of district pediatricians
On the 3rd of March 2006 the Joint Work Group on Forming a Register of Primary Level Professionals (the group was comprised representatives of the Federal Obligatory Medical Insurance Fund and the Russian Federation Ministry of Healthcare), decided that District Salary Coefficient 2 to salary shall be taken into consideration when remitting subsidies to the Chukotka Territorial Fund of Obligatory Medical Insurance.

In addition to this, registration of doctors, medical assistants and nurses employed in the ambulance and medical assistants employed in obstetric centers has been initiated in the Okrug to proceed with payment remittances.

The budget of the Chukotka Autonomic Okrug provides money to be paid to medical personnel of obstetric centers, doctors, medical assistants and nurses of the ambulance in the total amount of 2,849,000 rubles.

Continuing education

Senior Healthcare Administration, CAO Department of Social Policy, has determined that there is a need in continuing education of medical personnel specializing in Family Medicine and Pediatrics. Likewise, there is a need in professional training of medical assistants and nurses of the primary professional level. Twenty doctors and 18 members of the middle professional level also need such a training. A request for training of general practitioners (9 persons) has been sent to the Ministry of Health and Social Development


Equipment

A request has been made for diagnostic equipment to be used at ambulance and polyclinic stations for organization of first medical aid. Furthermore, a request for ambulance automobiles has been made. The equipment requested is worth 10 million and 4 million rubles, respectively.

The request was for:

1. Double X-ray stationary machine for Shmidt district,
2. 7 mammographers for X-ray and screening examination,
3. 3 ECG machines.

X-ray machines will be delivered to X-ray rooms of district hospitals.
8 ambulance automobiles are to be delivered to CAO district hospitals.

Vaccination

Number of children to be vaccinated in 2006:

1.Hepatitis B vaccine – 5 344 people;
2.Rubella vaccine – 1525 people;
3.Poliomyelitis vaccine – 6 people;
4.Flue vaccine – 5 734 children and 8 482 adults.

Hi-tech medical aid

It is estimated that the Okrug is in need of 102 hi-tech medical specialists. A proper request has been sent to the Ministry of Health and Social Development.

As of the end of 2005 according to the Russia Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development, 18 people were referred for costly hi-tech medical treatment.
